Families across Britain will be dusting off their Monopoly sets this Christmas – but one lucky family will get the chance to play some brand-new board games courtesy of a new job opening at John Adams.
The games company is looking for its very first ‘Board Director’ to trial a new selection of retro-inspired games this Christmas – and not only will they get to play the games for free, they’ll also be PAID £500 for taking part.
The successful candidate will have the chance to test out a number of games including Rummikub, Silly Sausage, Ghost Castle and Go for Broke, and will even get a selection to keep and play to their heart’s content.

If you secure the job, all you need to do is play the games at home with loved ones and send feedback on your experience to the John Adams HQ.
Simon Pilkington, group managing director at John Adams, said: “For those who have a passion for all things gaming, we’re seeking demon dice rollers and sophisticated shufflers to step up and take our newly created role of ‘Board Director’.
“The only work involved is playing board games and spending quality time at home with loved ones in your comfies, what could be better at Christmas?
“At John Adams we love bringing people together through our games, and as part of the new role, we want feedback on all gaming experiences, so we can continue to innovate and ensure the best playing experience for our customers.
“In return, we will pay a good ‘salary’ and provide a selection of classic retro-inspired IDEAL games for our ‘Board Director’ to keep and play forever!
“Think you’ve got what it takes? Please get in touch, and successful applicants will be notified shortly to get the ‘dice’ rolling.”
Anyone who knows their Scrabble from their Scribblish is urged to apply for the once-in-a-lifetime role, where having fun is literally part of the job.
The deadline for applications is December 6th, and successful applicants will be notified before December 10th.
