Woman bowled over as partner proposes at England cricket match – and it’s caught on TV

Picking the perfect time and place to propose to your significant other can be a pretty daunting task.

There are a lot of factors to consider – should you plan an intimate, private proposal or something more grand and public?

One man recently decided to pop the question to his partner during a cricket match and it's fair to say she was bowled over by the whole thing.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the couple, known as Phil and Jill, were watching England's T20 International against Pakistan when Phil got down on one knee.

And the romantic moment just so happened to be captured on camera for all Sky Sports viewers to see.

Wearing a retro England cricket top, Phil got down on one knee in the stands at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Clearly, he picked the right location to pop the question as his girlfriend was seen wearing an England sunhat.

Those watching at home saw a "decision pending" banner flash up on the screen as Phil awaited Jill's answer – mimicking the TV umpire process used in cricket

And thankfully she said yes, plucking the ring from the box and placing it on her own finger as cameras captured her nodding and mouthing "I love you" to her groom-to-be.

Commentator David 'Bumble' Lloyd added: "There's a great backstory to it, they're a great couple.

"They've been cooking for the NHS and the emergency services."

The crowd was thrilled for the couple as were cricket fans on Twitter who had seen the proposal on TV and the footage quickly went viral.

One person said: "Another proposal during live cricket match, that's so cuteeeee."

Another wrote: "Beautiful moment which happened during the third T20 between Pakistan and England – Congratulations to both of them."

A third tweeted: "Brilliant wedding proposal at the cricket. Well in lad."
