Serial killer Levi Bellfield ‘engaged to besotted visitor’ and ‘plans to wed in prison’

Evil serial killer Levi Bellfield is reportedly engaged to a prison visitor with the murderer said to be planning to wed her in jail.

The hammer killer's alleged plans has sparked outrage after it was revealed that he proposed to his lover in front of disbelieving prison staff.

The 53-year-old is serving life sentences for the deaths of Millie Downer, 13, Amelie Delagrange, 22, and 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell.

The Sun reported that Bellfield had his shock proposal accepted and is now consulting a solicitor to help him plan his wedding at HMP Frankland.

However, Justice Secretary Robert Buckland reportedly slammed the murderer’s actions calling the sick plan “beggars belief”.

He said: “Milly never got to see her wedding day. It cannot be right that he gets to have his.”

The minister said people would be “rightly shocked” about the revelation that Bellfield was able to form some kind of relationship.

Talking to The Sun, David Spencer, director of the Centre for Crime Prevention, called the marriage an “insult” to the families of his victims.

He added it would turn stomachs to think that taxpayers money would be used to fund such a “grotesque union” and the Ministry of Justice should do whatever they could to stop it.

A number of MPs told the paper of their opposition to the unholy union.

A Prison Service spokesperson told the Mirror: “An application has been received and is being considered in the usual way.”

Marsha McDonnell was also murdered by Bellfield

The woman, reported as a blonde in her 40s according to The Sun, was not identified and started corresponding with the murderer after he wrote to her two years ago and she is now a regular visitor.

She travels to see him once or twice a week for two hours at a time, where they sit opposite one another among other prisoners and their family and friends.

It was reportedly during one of these visits that Bellfield proposed out of the blue.

Bellfield also has a wedding ring bought by his lover, but is not allowed to wear it until he is given permission to marry.

Since, Bellfield has reportedly been “bragging” about his engagement to other inmates and telling people he has a fiancée.

A source told The Sun it was “hard to see what the woman sees in him” but Bellfield is serious about it and looking into the legal issues around getting married behind bars.

Bellfield was also convicted for the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy, 18, who he ran over.

He tracked his victims and launched vicious hammer attacks.
