Dad shares photo of dirty feet after a ‘day of walking around his Pontins chalet’

A dad has shared a photo of his socks and bare feet that had been thoroughly soiled after just a day at Pontins, he claims.

Alan Lee headed to Pontins Prestatyn at the end of July with his partner and three children for a much needed summer getaway.

The Wirral family had been booked into the holiday park in January but, because of pandemic restrictions, were forced to stump up £97 extra to change the reservation to the summer.

Alan, 40, left Pontins deeply disappointed with his stay due in part to what he saw as a lack of available activities for his kids.

"We had a joke of a holiday at Pontins Prestatyn, " the disgruntled dad told The Mirror.

"When we arrived we weren't aware of any changes, but there was only one club open on the site.

"People were queuing at 6.30am to get a 45 minute slow for the swimming baths which opened at 9.30am.

"There were no other facilities on the park for kids, aside from the £5 trampoline park.

"On Saturday evening whilst waiting for the children's entertainment to start we were asked to leave because we didn't have a seat to sit on.

"We were not able to stand and children were not able to dance. We were made to leave the premises."

As well as a lack of entertainment, Alan took issue with the cleanliness of the chalet they were allotted.

He shared a photo of the socks he wore to walk around the accommodation, which he claims sustained deep stains after just one day.

"That is just from walking around the chalet's supposedly clean floor," he said.

"All of the kids' socks were like that.

"There was food in the cupboard from the previous guests. It hadn't been cleaned."

Pontins has been contacted for comment.

Alan and his family are not the first people to take issue with the standard of cleanliness at a Pontins.

Anthony Southall visited the holiday park on July 26 with his wife Rebecca, their son, Benjamin, and daughters, Addison and Presley.

The family, who had booked the trip at the Southport holiday park to celebrate Addison's fifth birthday, had originally planned to stay for four nights, the Liverpool Echo reported.

However, they were so fed up with the experience that they checked out after just one night and made the 100 mile trip home.

"The chalet was filthy, there was pubic hair all over the bathroom," Anthony claimed.

"The floor was black with dirt, and it was wet, but not like it had been mopped, just wet."
