Aldi, Tesco, Asda and more urgently recall chicken goujons, pastries and other items

Aldi, Tesco, Asda and more urgently recall chicken goujons, pastries and other items

Several of the UK's leading supermarkets have recalled a number of products due to food safety concerns.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued alerts about items including chicken goujons, pastries, pasta, beer and fish, reported Kent Live.

Product recalls occur when there may be an issue with the food item that means it should not be sold – this could be in relation to various potential dangers including contamination, misleading or incorrect labels and allergens.

When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.

Reasons for this particular recall include erroneous ingredients, contaminants including small pieces of glass and metal, and wrong 'use-by' dates.

The items to be recalled include food and drink from leading supermarkets including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Co-op, Iceland and Waitrose.

A selection of the recalled items is listed below.
