New Apple Watch 7 launched in new colours with bigger screen and faster charging time

The new Apple Watch 7 has been launched as the tech giant unveils its latest new products.

Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed the new smart-watch with a larger screen area as in tech giant's big product launch today.

The Apple Watch series 7 says there will be room for almost 50% more room for text on screen, and a full touch keyboard has been added.

Apple says it is the most durable watch built, making the water-resistant screen even more difficult to crack.

It will also charge up to 33% faster, and will tak just 45 minutes to go from zero to 80% charge.

It includes new features like options for recording and measuring bike rides.

The new product, which will be available to buy later in autumn, also supports eBikes with a new algorithm helping it calculate calories.

The display area is bigger without significantly increasing the size of the new watch.

Fans had hoped for the latest model to include a faster processor and the new watch operating software.

Cook is also set to launch the new iPhone 13, rumoured to be likely to include a new range of colours.

Fans also hoped for larger displays on the latest handset, and longer battery life.

Apple also released updates to its iPad range in today's launch, including a new iPad Mini with 5G connectivity.

Tech titan Cook took over as Apple chief from the late Steve Jobs, who died in 2011.

He is heading up the Apple California Streaming launch on Tuesday, September 14.

It is a virtual event once again after the pandemic forced 2020's product launches to go online.

The event began at 10am California time on September 14 – or 6pm in the UK.
