    Man hunted by police after heavily pregnant woman shot dead in front of children

    A man wanted in connection with the killing of a heavily pregnant woman shot dead after her baby shower has been identified by police.

    Shanice Young, 31, was tragically found with a gunshot wound to her head and unresponsive when police were called to the scene in New York at about 1.15am on Saturday.

    She had been trying to break up a fight between two men – her ex-partner and new boyfriend, before she was shot.

    Despite being rushed to hospital she was sadly pronounced dead.

    The tragedy, described as "senseless" by loved ones, occurred during her own baby shower at in Harlem, Manhattan.

    Now, New York police have launched an appeal and released an image of the suspect Justin Soriano, 40, who is wanted in connection.

    The force said: "Our NYPD Detectives need your help in finding Justin Soriano.

    "He's wanted for the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old on 9/12 at 1.16 am near W 128 Street & Frederick Douglass Blvd in the NYPD 32nd precinct.

    "If you have any information contact NYPD Tips at 800-577-TIPS."

    The horrifying tragedy has left family members devastated.

    The slain woman's family told ABC 7 that her daughters, aged 15 and six, witnessed the shooting and looked on as their mother was loaded into an ambulance.

    Her sister, Metania, said: "Shanice was a victim, She didn't have four children – she had two, and the third one died with her."

    Writing on Facebook she said: "My heart I can’t… My sister really gone.

    "If last night I knew was the last was the last time I get to see you I would have stayed you would have been alive.

    "I can’t believe I let him do this you."

    A friend, Shari Logan, wrote on Facebook: "'Shanice Young of Harlem was pregnant and killed by her ex after the baby shower.

    "My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends right now.

    "This was completely senseless and unnecessary."
